Room Contracts have now successfully completed the full hotel refurbishment of all 508 bedrooms and front of house at the Ibis Hotel at Earls Court, London with all practical completion certificates issued.
Each individual floor and front of house refurbishment were delivered within the live operational environment of the existing hotel. All critical areas were delivered in an accordance with a carefully phased delivery programme which demanded that the existing hotel remained fully operational.
RCL have been working at the hotel since July 2022 following the successful tender for the full refurbishment of 230 Ibis Plaza bedrooms, bathrooms and associated corridors over 5 floors in 5 phases.
RCL were subsequently awarded the remaining upper 6 floors of 282 Mercure bedrooms for full refurbishment. The handover of the last phase of Mercure bedrooms completed the full hotel refurbishment.
The phased front of house programme commenced in January 2024 and was completed ahead of the key milestone of Wimbledon Tennis tournament as promised.
RCL’s site teams and core supply teams are entirely familiar with the delivery of these types of projects. Working within a live hotel environment offers many challenges all of which applied at Ibis Earl’s Court and all of which were successfully met.
